MELROSE, MA — A local State Representative has announced her campaign for State Senate in the fifth Middlesex District.

Kate Lipper-Garabedian represents the 32nd Middlesex District in the House of Representatives, which includes the entirety of Melrose, Ward 5 Precincts 2 and 3A of Malden, and Precincts 4,5, and 6 of the Town of Wakefield. She first took office in the spring of 2020 after serving as a Melrose city councilor. Her announcement comes on the heels of incumbent Jason Lewis announcing he will not be running for re-election.

Lipper-Garabedian, who has worked with Lewis relatively closely at times throughout the past six years, says she aims to continue that legacy with her own tenure.
