Milford Man Charged In Deadly Assault At Apartment Complex

A 54-year-old man died after an incident early Friday morning.

MILFORD, MA — A Medway man has died following an assault in Milford last week, according to multiple reports.

Michael Albro, 54, died after an incident early Friday morning, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's Office. The death followed an assault investigation at Birmingham Court, an apartment community near Sumner Street in Milford.

John J. Bonnell, 60, has since been charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and assault with intent to murder. He was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on May 11.

Milford police, along with Massachusetts State Police, responded to a 911 call Friday morning reporting a past assault.

Authorities said one man was taken into custody in connection with the incident, while another individual was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

According to WCVB, neighbors reported hearing screaming from the building overnight, though police were not contacted until hours later.

The incident remains under investigation by the Milford Police Department and State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
