Milford's Annual Veterans Day Ceremony Set For 2026

MILFORD, MA — Milford veterans and residents will gather next month for a ceremony honoring those who have served in the military.

The Veterans Day ceremony will begin at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, immediately after the town’s parade, Citizens for Milford announced. The event will be held at Draper Memorial Park, weather permitting.

Speakers will include retired Army Lt. Col. Vincenzo Valastro, retired Army veteran Cynthia A. Mainini and Vietnam War veteran Arthur A. Russo. Valastro, who served in uniform for 28 years, has been named grand marshal of this year’s parade.

Milford High School senior Aolani Clayton will sing the national anthem and the Milford High School Marching Band will perform. Local veterans, clergy and members of the Sons of the American Legion will also participate.

Members of the Waters Corporation Veterans Employee Resource Group will place a wreath at the World War I monument. Milford Fire Lt. Scott Keefe will perform “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes during the presentation.

A Field of Flags honoring veterans and active-duty military personnel will be installed in Draper Memorial Park before Veterans Day and remain through the following Monday. A limited number of chairs will be available at the ceremony.

If rain cancels the parade, the ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the Italian American War Veterans Post 40 Hall, 4 Hayward Field. If the parade proceeds but poor weather forces the ceremony indoors, it will begin at approximately noon at the hall.

Weather updates will be posted on the Citizens for Milford Facebook page. Additional ceremony information is available on the Citizens for Milford website.
