The Needham-raised comic reflects on his family, career path, and deep affection for his hometown, even vlogging a recent visit that took him past his childhood home and local favorites.
   

2. Needham Kayaker Traverses Charles River in 'Source-to-Sea' Expedition (needhamlocal.org) — Needham resident Mike Miles turned the Charles River into his personal adventure course, hiking and kayaking all 66-plus miles from Hopkinton to Cambridge in four days. Along the way, he passed through stretches by Charles River Park in Needham, battled weeds, culverts, capsizing, and wildlife, and hopes his meticulous planning and persistence will inspire his kids to tackle big challenges close to home.
   

3. Tree ByLaw Leaves Room for Negotiation (needhamlocal.org) — Needham officials are weighing a new tree bylaw that would curb clearcutting while still allowing property development, potentially heading to Special Town Meeting in October. The proposal responds to recent tree canopy loss and offers flexible options, including preserving existing trees, replanting, or paying into a tree replacement fund, after residents shared feedback at a public hearing.
   

4. 'Multiple possible ignition sources' caused fatal Needham fire that claimed life of Syracuse University student (wcvb.com) — Investigators have concluded that last December's deadly house fire on Woodworth Road in Needham, which killed 21-year-old Syracuse University student Kayla Corrigan, started in the home's garage but has no single pinpointed cause. Officials say multiple accidental ignition sources, including lithium-ion batteries, power tools, and ignitable liquids, were present, so the blaze is officially classified as undetermined but clearly not intentional.
