High school football notebook: Michael Walsh, Everett weather road test by going deep, twice (bostonglobe.com) — Newburyport fans can celebrate a dramatic 27-21 overtime win against rival Triton, capped by Tim Sheehan’s 10-yard touchdown run and a clutch fourth-down stop led by Cormac Morrissey. Senior kicker Nick Garbarino kept the Clippers alive with a 38-yard field goal that just cleared the uprights in regulation. Residents and shop workers say the city’s historic look made it a perfect backdrop, and the film, starring Eva Longoria, is expected out next year.

Lowest midgrade gas price in Essex County hits $4.39 for week ending Sept. 19 (northbostonnews.com) — Midgrade gas in Newburyport is running among the higher prices in Essex County, with local stations listed at $5.29 per gallon during the week ending Sept. 19. Countywide, the midgrade average hit $4.89, slightly below the statewide average of $4.92. Prices remain elevated amid global oil disruptions and refinery issues, so checking rates frequently still matters.
