Newton Man Charged After Using Machete During Road Rage Incident: Report

NEWTON, MA — A resident was arrested on multiple charges in connection to a road rage incident in the town of Dedham, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.

Mussa M Rafat Mohamed, 51, has officially been charged with assault and battery, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, vandalizing the property of another, and disorderly conduct after the incident that took place on Providence Highway on Thursday, May 28.

Dedham police responded to the scene shortly before 2 p.m. Mohamed reportedly got out of his vehicle with a machete and chased another person. He also struck the person’s car with the blade. Before fleeing the area, Mohamed also threw a water bottle at the other person involved.

Police seized evidence from Mohamed’s Newton residence and secured evidence related to the altercation.
