Newton Police Looking To Identify Person Possibly Involved In Vandalism Incident

NEWTON, MA — The police department is looking to identify a man it believes was involved in a recent incident of malicious destruction of a motor vehicle that took place in Newtonville.

The man was captured on surveillance footage on Washington Street on Monday, Aug. 24, shortly before 3:20 p.m., the time of the reported incident. According to police, the person is a white man wearing a dark-colored bucket hat and a gray T-shirt reading "NEWTONVILLE MA." He was seen ripping the door handle off a Tesla.

Community members with relevant information are being asked to contact detectives at 617-796-2104 or via email. Police have not released the identity of the man or announced any arrests in connection with the incident.
