Opus Newton marks first year with full occupancy, focus on middle-income senior living (figcitynews.com) — Opus Newton, the senior living community on Winchester Street, has reached full occupancy in its first year and is being hailed as a new model for middle‑income older adults in Newton. Residents volunteer monthly, help shape programming, and many moved from local homes, potentially freeing up housing for younger families. City leaders and 2Life Communities now hope to replicate the concept elsewhere.
   

2. Newton man dead in NH head-on crash (boston.com) — A 46‑year‑old Newton man, Juan Gabarro, was killed Monday in a head‑on collision on Route 16 in Tamworth, New Hampshire, while riding as a passenger in a Nissan Rogue. State Police say a northbound Subaru crossed into the southbound lane for unknown reasons, and both drivers were evaluated but uninjured. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact them.
   

3. Hope, joy, heavy lifting — Harvard Gazette (harvard.edu) — A Harvard move-in feature briefly spotlights Thomas Grieser, whose parents live in Newton and are thrilled he'll now be closer to home after five years at school in the U.K. Their comments, alongside other families' reflections, offer a glimpse of the excitement and bittersweet emotions many local parents may recognize as their own kids head off to college.
   

4.
