READING, MA — The town announced that curbside trash and recycling collection will fully transition to automated trucks starting July 6.
The trucks use a mechanical arm to lift and empty trash and recycling carts, "creating a safer, cleaner, and more efficient system for our community," according to the town.
Last year, the town issued new standardized trash and recycling carts to all households currently receiving town collection.
