BLIND SIGHT with Ivy George - Book Release and Reading -

Ivy George reads from her new memoir "Blind Sight - When Freedom Was Not Enough" (Winter Island Press) and engages in a discussion at 11 a.m. in the Chairs' Room of the Ken Olsen Science Center, Gordon College. Dr. George has been a professor of sociology at Gordon since 1983. 

“I once was a female in a far-off country.” In this essential memoir, Ivy George recounts the burden of being a woman in her native India, and her flight to the West chasing a freedom that remained elusive.   

The 2026 publication of this memoir detailing an Indian American woman’s life is particularly timely on this 250th anniversary of the United States.
