"Street sweeping is essential in keeping our neighborhood streets clean for the upcoming spring season," Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo said. "Resident cooperation is vital to the success of this program. In order for the Department of Public Services to best sweep the streets, please remove your vehicles from the street during your designated sweep day."
Sweeping in the entrance corridors, including Boston Street, Bridge Street, and Lafayette Street, will occur from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.

These corridors will follow an alternating schedule for even and odd sides of the street. This allows vehicles to park on the other side of the street. Residential neighborhood street sweeping will take place on both sides of the street on the same day, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Temporary "No Parking/Tow Zone" signs will be posted in each neighborhood route. Parking will be prohibited between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Neighborhood streets are divided into four zones, and sweep days typically follow the day after regularly scheduled trash collection.
Street sweeping schedules are available online at the Public Services website, the Department of Public Services office at 5 Jefferson Avenue, City Hall, and the Salem Public Library.
Residents may use the entrance corridor streets as alternative parking during their neighborhood sweep. All existing parking regulations, including resident-only restrictions, must be followed on these corridors.
Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed or towed.
