Salem, Beverly Recycling Event Set For Next Weekend
Residents of Salem and Beverly can bring accepted Styrofoam to a June 20 drive-through event in Salem.
SALEM, MA — Salem and Beverly will again partner to host a Styrofoam Collection Day on Saturday.
The drive-through event at the Community Life Center on Bridge Street in Salem is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents of Salem and Beverly only may participate.
The collection is limited to rigid, white, expanded polystyrene, also known as Styrofoam. The material must be free of labels and tape.

Squishy foam, packaging peanuts and food service containers, including meat trays, clamshells and Styrofoam cups, will not be accepted.
The event offers residents a recycling option for a material that cannot be placed in curbside bins. Casella, formerly Save That Stuff, has densifiers that can process the material for recycling.

Organizers are also seeking volunteers for two Saturday shifts, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
