Salem's Peabody Essex Museum To Host 'Symphony By The Sea' Peformance
The event includes a talk, a performance of "The Four Seasons," museum admission and a light reception.
SALEM, MA — The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem will host "Vivaldi with Symphony by the Sea" in an upcoming event with the North Shore's professional symphony orchestra that includes a talk, museum admission, and a light reception.
The program is set for May 31 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The program will focus on Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" and the way composers have used music to reflect the seasons over time. During the Baroque period, many composers created concerto cycles representing the seasons. Vivaldi used four sonnets of his own creation as a starting point for the music of "Four Seasons."
