Let’s Rock Cancer Returns To Somerville’s Crystal Ballroom For 5th Year

The Dec. 11 benefit for Dana-Farber features Vapors of Morphine, Muck & the Mires and more — and honors the late Chelsea Curve bassist Linda

The 5th annual Let’s Rock Cancer music benefit concert takes over the Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre on Friday, December 11, with a night of rockin’ live music raising vital funds for community-based cancer care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The show runs 6:00 to 11:00 p.m., and tickets are on sale now at crystalballroomboston.com/events/lets-rock-cancer/.

Hosted by GBH radio announcer Henry Santoro, this year’s concert features performances by some of the Boston area’s favorite acts: Vapors of Morphine, Muck & the Mires, The Ray Liriano Experience and ...Go! (plus guests).

This year’s concert will celebrate the life of Linda Pardee, the beloved bass player, vocalist and co-founder of Boston rock trio Chelsea Curve, who also performed in Orbit and numerous other bands. Pardee, a fixture at past Let’s Rock Cancer events, passed away in August following a long battle with cancer. Jeff Robbins, co-founder of Orbit, will dedicate a special set to Linda.

Founded by cancer survivor and musician Stephen Moore, Let’s Rock Cancer supports Dana-Farber’s Cancer Care Access Program, which was established in 2012 to reduce disparities in cancer outcomes across local communities by connecting patients with preventive care, treatment and clinical trials.

“We are honored to be the beneficiary of Let’s Rock Cancer concert again this year,” said Christopher Lathan, MD, MS, MPH, Chief Clinical Access Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. “The generosity behind this event allows us to continue to break down barriers to cancer care and connect more patients with the care and support they need.”
