• Divided Taunton council backs senior housing plan. What both sides say (tauntongazette.com) — Taunton city councilors have narrowly agreed to declare 100 Oak St. surplus so the city can seek proposals for a roughly 50-unit senior housing project that would span three Oak Street properties. The plan hinges on environmental cleanup of a contaminated former industrial site and has split councilors over safety concerns, parking needs, and how best to serve local seniors near Davol Park.
   

• Diocese finds remains of priests it was searching for at St. Mary's (tauntongazette.com) — St. Mary’s parishioners and neighbors should know that the remains of two 19th-century priests once buried at the Taunton church have been carefully moved to Saint Joseph Cemetery in the city. The Diocese of Fall River says the relocation, done with prayers and new grave markers planned, clears the way for an eventual sale of the long-closed church property.
