• Public Facilities Committee Report – 9/23/2026 (figcitynews.com) — Newton's Public Facilities Committee voted to join coordinated solid waste contract negotiations with Walpole and other Massachusetts municipalities, aiming for better rates when the current trash deal expires in 2028. With Walpole part of this 35‑community effort, residents should watch how regional bargaining may affect future disposal costs and long‑term waste management planning.
