Wayland Man Thanks First Responders Who Saved Him When Tree Crushed His Car
Eric Freeman was trapped and seriously injured after a massive tree fell on his car in Framingham last month.
WAYLAND, MA — A man from Wayland reunited with the first responders who saved him last month.
Eric Freeman, 67, was trapped inside of his vehicle and seriously injured after a massive tree fell on his car on Elm Street in Framingham during a storm in December. Freeman had the opportunity to thank the Framingham first responders at a ceremony at the fire station on Wednesday, Jan. 21. , according to a news release from the Framingham Fire Department.
Massachusetts Sen. President Karen Spilka was in attendance at the ceremony, which took place at Framingham Fire Station No. 2 in Saxonville. She personally thanked the city's firefighters and fire responders for their heroic actions.

Freeman's wife, Kathleen Freeman, also shared her deep thanks for the firefighters' courage and compassion at the event.

Those honored were Framingham Fire Department's Deputy Chief Kurt O’Rourke, Lt. Chad Sexton, Lt. Luke Moro, and firefighters Dana Tesorero, William Petro, Chris Hendron, Chris Jack and Ronnie Hernandez, as well as Brewester EMS' Field Supervisor Tom Quilty and paramedics Kevin Chapin, Frances Rodgers, Donald Avery, and Brandon Blanchard.
