WAYLAND, MA — A local senior living community’s maintenance director has received statewide recognition for her work supporting residents and staff.

Laurie Pimentel of Carriage House at Lee’s Farm received a 2026 Facilities and Maintenance Award from the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association. The award recognizes work that creates a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for assisted living residents.

Pimentel oversees maintenance at the Northbridge community, which offers independent living, assisted living and Avita Memory Care at 134 Boston Post Road.

Her projects have included building a rotating puzzle table to make the activity more accessible for residents, restoring a damaged dining room table and creating a memorial scoreboard and bocce court in honor of a resident who enjoyed the game.

Pimentel has also helped improve the community’s apartment preparation process for new residents and supports its maintenance and housekeeping teams, according to Carriage House.

“We are proud to celebrate this year’s Excellence Award recipients whose compassion, professionalism and commitment brighten the days of the residents they serve,” Mass-ALA President and CEO Brian Doherty said. “These individuals represent the very best of assisted living, ensuring that older adults are supported with dignity, independence and respect each day.”
