Project Graduation events have long been held at high schools across Massachusetts as a way to give students a supervised and safe alternative to post-graduation parties, which can often involve alcohol or risky driving behavior. Organizers say the events are designed to keep students together in a secure environment during one of the most dangerous nights of the year for teen drivers.
