Westborough Police Warn Of Dangerous ‘Door Kick Challenge’
Police are warning residents about a social media challenge that may be behind several recent incidents at local homes.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — Police are warning residents about a social media challenge that may be behind several recent incidents at local homes.
The Westborough Police Department said this week that young people participating in the “Door Kick Challenge” approach residential doors, kick them with enough force to nearly break them and then flee. Police said they have received several reports over the past few days indicating that the trend has reached Westborough.
Participants have described the challenge as an escalated version of “Ding Dong Ditch,” according to police. The department warned that the activity could endanger participants and homeowners who may believe someone is attempting to break into their house.

Similar warnings have been issued by other Massachusetts police departments, including Billerica and Bourne, according to WCVB.
