• Westport spars with state over Horseneck Beach road (newbedfordlight.org) — Westport officials are pressing the state over plans to widen a paved trail at Horseneck Beach into a 20-foot emergency access road, after earlier work destroyed part of a protective dune. Residents and conservation commissioners are questioning whether such a wide road is truly needed for safety, and the town has delayed a decision until an independent expert weighs in next month.
