• Soccer team clobbers Holbrook, ties ORR, starts season 3-1-2 (eastbayri.com) — Westport High’s boys and girls soccer teams, along with field hockey, are off to dominant starts, piling up lopsided wins and shutouts to open their seasons. Despite losing star striker Austin Raposo to injury, the boys remain strong behind Tiago Rodrigues and CJ LeBlanc, while the girls and field hockey squads are racking up goals and staying unbeaten. 
• SouthCoast Nor'easter Made This Dartmouth Dad Feel Rich (wbsm.com) — As the recent nor’easter fizzled inland, a Dartmouth dad reflects on feeling truly “rich” while splashing in a freshly swollen backyard creek with his young son. Along the shoreline, though, Westport’s East Beach and the Gooseberry Island Causeway took a pounding, captured in striking aftermath photos that show how hard the coastal storm hit nearby.
