Norfolk County Sheriff's Office to host 'House to House for Heroes' veterans' outreach in Avon on September 26th (franklinmatters.org) — Norfolk County's Sheriff's Office is bringing its 'House to House for Heroes' veterans outreach to Avon on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, after previously visiting Weymouth and other nearby towns. Weymouth veterans and volunteers are welcome to join the door-to-door effort, which starts 9:30 a.m. at Avon's VFW Post 8892 and connects former service members with benefits and support.

Learning Exotic Animal Medicine at the New England Wildlife Center (osu.edu) — A veterinary student spent a week training at the New England Wildlife Center in Weymouth, gaining hands-on experience with exotic pets through the low-cost Odd Pet Vet clinic. Their work ranged from caring for reptiles and small mammals to learning about zoonotic disease risks, highlighting how this Weymouth-based nonprofit supports both animals and local pet owners.
   

3. Lindsay Clancy verdict may take days, legal expert says (patriotledger.com) — As jurors prepare to decide the high-profile Lindsay Clancy case, a legal expert says deliberations could stretch for days, comparing it to other lengthy trials. One example is the Emanuel Lopes case, where a jury ultimately convicted him in the killing of Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna after extended deliberations, underscoring how complex verdicts can be.
   

4. 25-Year-Old Woman Dismissed 'Egg'-Sized Throat Lump As Bacterial Infection. It Turned Out To Be Hodgkin Lymphoma (survivornet.com) — A 25-year-old woman from Weymouth discovered that a lump she first dismissed as strep throat was actually Hodgkin lymphoma, but she's now cancer-free after chemotherapy.
