• Wilmington Cultural Council Now Accepting Grant Applications Through October 15; Applicant Forum Set For September 10 (wilmingtonapple.com) — Wilmington artists, teachers, and community groups can now apply for Cultural Council grants supporting local arts, humanities, and science projects, with applications due October 15. The Wilmington Cultural Council is also hosting an Applicant Forum on September 10 at Town Hall to explain who can apply, how the process works, and tips for stronger proposals.
   

• Wilmington American Legion Auxillary hosts 'Friday Night Kids Fun' for children and Scouts (homenewshere.com) — Families in Wilmington can take part in the free weekly "Friday Night Kids Fun" program at the American Legion/VFW, where children and Scouts explore U.S. history through crafts, campfire snacks, and conversations with veterans. After a short Labor Day and 9/11 break, sessions resume September 18 and continue through mid-October, with space limited and email RSVPs requested.
