• Ledges returns for another citizens petition at Winchester Town Meeting to change zoning (winchesternews.org) — Winchester residents at The Ledges are preparing another citizens petition for Town Meeting to change their zoning from a Planned Residential District to Residential District A, allowing sale of a 20,000-square-foot parcel as a separate lot. Support among homeowners has grown to 94%, with proponents emphasizing new tax revenue and fees for Winchester and no added infrastructure costs, while key boards would still review any development.
   

• Ellen Knight retires after 15 years in Winchester archives (winchesternews.org) — Winchester's longtime reference archivist Ellen Knight has retired after decades rescuing town records, correcting veterans memorial names, and building the archives from scattered boxes into 250 organized collections. Her departure leaves Winchester without a clear successor historian, even as town staff and residents continue relying on the archives for house histories, infrastructure projects, and civic decisions. She'll now return to her musicology research while consulting part-time.
   

• Join Team BILT for the Flutie 5K for Autism in October (winchesternews.org) — Winchester residents are invited to join Team BILT at the Flutie 5K for Autism in Natick on Sunday, Oct. 25, with options to run, walk, roll, volunteer, or bring kids for a fun run. All money raised by Team BILT supports local disability programs and monthly raffles, giving Winchester participants a way to support neighbors with autism and other disabilities while enjoying a community-focused day.
