Big League Productions, Inc. Launches National Tour of Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN

"Ya Got Trouble" in River City—and Worcester—as Tony Award-Winning Musical Arrives at The Hanover Theatre this May

WORCESTER, Mass. — There is trouble in River City, and it’s headed straight for Main Street. Big League Productions has announced that the national tour of Meredith Willson’s beloved musical comedy, THE MUSIC MAN, will take the stage at The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts from May 15–17, 2026.

This six-time Tony Award-winning classic tells the story of Harold Hill, a charismatic, fast-talking traveling salesman. Hill’s latest con involves convincing the residents of River City, Iowa, to purchase instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he promises to lead—all despite the fact that he cannot read a single note of music.

However, his scheme hits a snag when he meets Marian the Librarian. As she begins to transform him into a respectable citizen, Hill must decide between skipping town with the cash or following his heart.
