Cats Take Over Polar Park For Special WooSox Theme Night

Feline friends will be allowed through the gates at Polar Park this week.

WORCESTER, MA — Cats will be allowed through the gates at Polar Park this week for one of the WooSox’s special theme nights.

The Worcester Red Sox will host Purr in the Park at 6:05 p.m. Thursday, June 4, during a home game against the Buffalo Bisons at Polar Park, allowing fans who buy a special ticket package to bring their cats to the game.

The promotion is returning after the team held its first Purr in the Park in 2025. Worcester Business Journal reported last year that the first event at Polar Park included cats and made the WooSox one of only a handful of minor league teams to host a similar cat-focused game.

Thursday’s game is also part of the WooSox’ June 2-7 homestand against Buffalo, the Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, according to the team. The night will also include Greek Heritage Night and an Uxbridge Town Takeover.

The game will coincide with the WooSox’ Deuces Wild promotion, with $2 hot dogs, $2 12-ounce drafts and $2 bottles of Polar water available during Thursday summer evening home games, according to the team.

The WooSox also host "Tail-Waggin' Tuesdays" where dogs can accompany their owners to Polar Park every Tuesday.

Tickets are available at woosox.com, by calling (508) 500-8888 or at the Polar Park Ticket Office.
