Free Bus Service To Worcester Airport Extended
Travelers flying through Worcester Regional Airport will be able to keep using a free WRTA bus connection for another year.
WORCESTER, MA — Travelers flying through Worcester Regional Airport will be able to keep using a free WRTA bus connection for another year.
Worcester Regional Airport announced Tuesday that the WRTA has extended fare-free service through June 2027, including Route 2 service to and from the airport. The fare-free program began in March 2020 and requires annual approval from the WRTA Advisory Board.
The Board voted in April to continue the fare-free program through at least June 30, 2027, according to This Week in Worcester.
Route 2 runs between the Union Station Hub and Worcester Airport via Pleasant Street and Tatnuck Square, according to the WRTA schedule. The route includes weekday and Saturday airport trips, with Sunday service running along Pleasant Street, according to WRTA.
The airport promoted the service Tuesday as another option for passengers using Worcester Regional Airport.
