Hanover Theatre Kicks Off Christmas In July With Holiday Show Ticket Sales
The shows include "A Christmas Carol," "The Nutcracker," the Boston Pops Holiday Tour and Cookies & Tea with Clara from "The Nutcracker."
WORCESTER, MA —Christmas is coming to Worcester earlier this year.
The Hanover Theatre & Conservatory's 2026 holiday lineup ticket sales will go live on Friday. The shows include “A Christmas Carol,” “The Nutcracker,” the Boston Pops Holiday Tour and Cookies & Tea with Clara from “The Nutcracker."
The season will include the theater’s 19th annual production of “A Christmas Carol,” running Dec. 17 to 23. Billie Aken-Tyers will make her Hanover Theatre directing debut with the production.
Aken-Tyers has worked on several national and international productions, most recently as associate director for the four-time Tony Award-nominated “Titaníque.” She was also resident director for the “SIX” national tour and assistant director for the “Beetlejuice” national tour, both of which recently came to The Hanover Theatre.
“I’m honored to continue The Hanover Theatre’s wonderful holiday tradition while bringing my own creativity and perspective to the beloved production,” Aken-Tyers said in the announcement.
“The Nutcracker” will run Nov. 27 to 29 with lighting and scenery by Broadway designers and live music from The Hanover Theatre Nutcracker Orchestra, conducted by Boston Ballet conductor emeritus Jonathan McPhee.
The Boston Pops Holiday Tour will stop at the theater Dec. 4 with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and conductor Keith Lockhart. Cookies & Tea with Clara from “The Nutcracker” will take place Nov. 15.
