Woman Wanted In Connection With Worcester Cop Husband's Death: Police
A warrant was issued for Karen Solomon's arrest.
WORCESTER, MA — A warrant was issued for the arrest of Karen Solomon in connection with the death of her Worcester police officer husband, police said.
Solomon, 58, was last seen about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday wearing shorts and a T-shirt, the police department said in a social media post.
"There is a warrant for her arrest. She may have a weapon," the post said, warning residents not to approach her.
Solomon is wanted in connection with the death of her husband, 31-year veteran police Officer Kurt Solomon.
“Officer Solomon dedicated more than three decades of his life to serving the City of Worcester,” the New England Police Benevolent Association said last week. “Throughout his distinguished career, he earned the respect of those who served alongside him and was known as an incredibly dependable officer, colleague and friend.”
Worcester officers responded to a residence shortly before 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of a person down, Worcester Police Chief Paul Saucier said during a press conference. A deceased man was later identified as a Worcester police officer who was off-duty at the time, officials said.
Saucier said Karen Solomon is presumed to be “armed and dangerous.” Anyone who sees her was advised to call Worcester police at 508-799-8606 or 911.
