Longtime Worcester Educator To Be Principal At Woodland Academy
Woodland Academy will have a new principal for the 2026-27 school year.

WORCESTER, MA — Woodland Academy will have a new principal for the 2026-27 school year, Worcester Public Schools announced this week.
Mary Sealey has been appointed principal of Woodland Academy, according to a July 1 letter to the school community from Christopher Kursonis, executive director of the district’s South Quadrant. Sealey has worked in Worcester Public Schools for more than three decades and has spent 13 years as a principal, including 12 years at Canterbury Street School in Main South.
Sealey has also served as an assistant principal and curriculum specialist in the district. She has experience in special education, including STEP and Transitional Life Skills programs, according to the letter.
The district said school and district administrators have been discussing ways to support students and staff at Woodland Academy to improve student outcomes.
Christopher LaBreck, who served as principal of both Woodland Academy and Claremont Academy over the past year, will continue as principal at Claremont Academy. He will work with Sealey in the shared school community, Kursonis said.
Sealey is expected to connect directly with Woodland Academy students, families and staff in the near future.
