The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to public service in the town.

WAYLAND, MA — The town is looking for nominations for its annual C. Peter R. Gossels Good Government Award.

The award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the quality of government in Wayland, was named in honor of C. Peter R. Gossels, a 58-year resident of Wayland, U.S. Army veteran and Holocaust survivor.

R. Gossels served the town for many years, including as a member of the Finance Committee, Town Counsel and as the Town Moderator, an elected position that he held for 30 years, from 1982 to 2011. He died in October 2019 at 89-years-old.
