Worcester Schools Names New NightLife Coordinator
Jibrael N. Younis will oversee community classes and workforce development programs at Worcester Tech.
WORCESTER, MA — A new coordinator has been named for Worcester NightLife, the city’s evening education and workforce training program for adults.
Jibrael N. Younis will oversee community classes and workforce development programs at Worcester Technical High School, Worcester Public Schools announced Tuesday. The program offers courses ranging from Tai Chi and world languages to training for careers in healthcare, diesel technology, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work.
Younis brings more than a decade of workforce development leadership experience to the position. He most recently served as operations manager for MassHire Central Career Centers in Worcester, overseeing programs funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
At MassHire, Younis also directed workforce development programs for local job seekers through the state’s Career Technical Initiative. The work included partnerships with Worcester Technical High School, Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School and Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Younis previously worked with Worcester NightLife on student recruitment, eligibility and workforce readiness. He holds a master’s degree in social work from Boston College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Endicott College.
Younis succeeds Ruth Seward, who is stepping down after leading NightLife since 2021. Under Seward, the program revived its community classes following the COVID-19 pandemic and expanded its workforce development offerings.
NightLife served 829 local adults during the 2025-26 school year, including 187 people enrolled in community classes and 642 in workforce development programs, according to Worcester Public Schools.
