The decision avoids a trial and potential removal from office, which former supervisor Will Hathaway now says would harm township government and residents near Ann Arbor.

With concerns over pay, class sizes, and planning time, teachers say low compensation is driving colleagues to leave Ann Arbor for better-paying districts as mediated talks resume June 15.
