ā¢ Bessemer Board drops two staff (yourdailyglobe.com) ā Bessemerās school board has laid off two teachers due to budget limits and lower enrollment, while also raising substitute pay to $140 a day for 2026-27. The board approved new coaching hires, renewed sports co-ops with Wakefield-Marenisco, and kept all grades open for school-of-choice enrollment, moves that will shape local classrooms and athletics this year.

ā¢ All Gogebic proposals pass in Michigan primary (yourdailyglobe.com) ā Gogebic County voters approved every local millage on Tuesday, including a Bessemer Township proposal that passed 150-43. Turnout was about 25%, and residents also helped decide key primary races for U.S. Senate, governor, and legislative seats, setting up the matchups theyāll see on the November ballot. Ā Ā Ā
