• Michigan State Police apprehends fugitive who fled traffic stop (9and10news.com) — A 41-year-old Birch Run resident faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing a Michigan State Police traffic stop near Traverse City, where troopers say they later found him hiding before arresting him without incident. He’s been arraigned, given a $25,000 bond, and is due back in court June 15, which Birch Run readers may want to note.
   

• Four vehicles involved in M-18 work zone crash; one driver injured (wnem.com) — A 63-year-old Birch Run woman was involved but uninjured in a four-vehicle crash in a construction zone on M-18 in Gladwin County Wednesday evening. Deputies say a Midland driver rear-ended her SUV, triggering a chain reaction that injured only the man in the striking vehicle, who was cited and taken to the hospital.
