• Paquette, Andrews seeking to fight foreclosure fraud with legislation (wsjm.com) — A Bridgman-based nonprofit, Harbor Country Mission, helped alert lawmakers to a foreclosure scam that has been targeting Southwest Michigan homeowners, prompting new legislation in Lansing. Representatives Brad Paquette and Joey Andrews are backing a bill requiring recorded foreclosure notices, clear written equity disclosures, and a seven-day waiting period before any sale, reforms shaped with input from Berrien County officials and local advocates.
   

• Area students named to Rogers LEAD WT cohort for 2026-2027 academic year (myplainview.com) — A Bridgman student, junior agriculture major Madalynn Schmidt, has been selected for the competitive Rogers LEAD WT leadership cohort at West Texas A&M University for 2026–2027. The two-year program offers leadership coursework, service projects, internships, and networking to just 25 high-achieving students each year, giving this Bridgman native a notable opportunity well beyond Berrien County.
