1. Recall filed against Coldwater Councilman Houtz (thedailyreporter.com) — A Fourth Ward resident has filed a recall petition against Coldwater City Councilman Scott Houtz over his vote to introduce a controversial property maintenance ordinance. County officials will review the petition’s wording at a June 25 hearing, which could eventually trigger a recall election if enough ward voters sign. The ordinance itself has been pulled back for revisions after strong public pushback.

2. More Improvements approved for former Lefty's Lounge Building (wtvbam.com) — City officials have approved more renovation work for the former Lefty’s Lounge building at 10 South Monroe, moving a planned specialty ice cream shop in downtown Coldwater closer to reality. The Historic District Commission signed off on window replacements, removal of a parapet wall and chimney, and new rear fascia and gutters, while a revised development agreement gives the owners until July 1 to start construction.

3. Downtown Coldwater sidewalk closed as bricks fall (thedailyreporter.com) — Part of the east sidewalk on South Monroe Street in downtown Coldwater is blocked off after loose bricks fell from a historic building, prompting safety concerns. City officials say moisture and freeze-thaw damage caused the problem, and the closure could affect Strawberry Fest on June 20 and the Hops On Monroe block parties unless repairs make the area safe in time.

Inaugural Rigs & Relics Midwest Muster & Meet coming to the Branch County Fairgrounds June 26-28 (wtvbam.com) — Coldwater residents can explore vintage fire trucks, police cars, buses, and military rigs when the inaugural Rigs & Relics Midwest Muster & Meet takes over the Branch County Fairgrounds June 26–28. With an emergency vehicle parade, safety demos, food trucks, and the unveiling of a rock-tour bus, the family-friendly event offers a full weekend of affordable mechanical history for just $5 admission.
