1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Dearborn Heights Domestic Shooting: Police
Police said there is no threat to the public.
DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI — A woman was killed and a man was critically injured after a domestic shooting Tuesday in Dearborn Heights, according to police.
The shooting happened at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday inside a home in the 5400 block of Huron Street in Dearborn Heights, according to police.
Officers were called to the home for a report of a verbal dispute between the two people who knew each other, according to police.

When officers arrived, they had to force their way into the home where they found the 46-year-old woman shot dead, according to police.
Officers also found a 35-year-old man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition, according to police.
Investigators believe this was a domestic incident and that there is no threat to the public.
"Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones affected by this senseless act of violence," Police Chief Mike Guzowski said. "Our officers responded quickly and did everything they could to save this victim’s life. This investigation remains active."
