• Dearborn calls itself the 'Coffee Capital.' What's fueling the boom? (mlive.com) — Dearborn's booming coffee scene now includes more than 45 shops and a city-backed Coffee Week that wraps up today, Oct. 2, with a closing celebration at PEACE Park East. Local Yemeni- and globally-inspired cafes are expanding statewide and beyond, while still serving as neighborhood gathering spots where each cup supports Dearborn family-owned businesses.

• Dearborn limits parking to 3 hours in these west side downtown spots (bnd.com) — If you park in west downtown Dearborn, be ready for new three-hour limits at four popular spots near Michigan Avenue starting Monday, Oct. 5, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. City officials say the pilot program is meant to keep prime spaces turning over for customers, with employees encouraged to use nearby parking decks while a commission monitors and adjusts the plan.
