Detroit Zoo Welcomes Baby Gorilla Girl
The baby girl is just the second gorilla ever born at the Detroit Zoo.

ROYAL OAK, MI — A baby girl gorilla was born last Sunday at the Detroit Zoo, making her just the second gorilla ever born at the zoo.
Zoo officials said the new western lowland gorilla was born at the zoo to mom Tulivu and silverback Mshindi.
Officials called the birth a meaningful milestone for a critically endangered species, and part of the Gorilla Species Survival Plan working to protect western lowland gorillas.
