No Charges In Triple Fatal Shooting At Detroit Gas Station: Prosecutors
Prosecutors said the gunman acted in self-defense.
DETROIT — A 22-year-old will not be charged after fatally shooting three people during a fight at a Detroit gas station, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors denied the warrant request and determined the shooting was self-defense.
The shooting happened early Sunday morning at 2:50 a.m. near a gas station in the 21700 block of West McNichols Road, prosecutors said.

They were each taken to a nearby hospital where they all died, prosecutors said.
Moments before the shooting, prosecutors said there was a car crash involving the victims’ vehicle and another driver. The victims followed the other driver to the gas station, prosecutors said.
That's when Owens, Jasmine Sheeler and Trevor Sheeler got out of their car and approached the other driver's door, opened it and started fighting the driver, prosecutors said.
During the fight, the shooter, who was in the rear seat, fired multiple shots, hitting the three people, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said the shooter was a CPL holder and had a registered pistol. The shooter also stayed at the scene and was arrested without incident.
"After a careful review of the facts and evidence, WCPO has determined that the warrant will be denied for insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect did not act in lawful self-defense and in defense of others," prosecutors said in a statement.
