1. 2 Bodies, Human Remains Found Inside Detroit Home: Police (patch.com) — Detroit residents are being told there is no public danger after police discovered two bodies and additional human remains inside a home on Stoepel Street last week. Officers initially found a man and woman Thursday night, then returned Friday to locate another person's remains in the basement, with the Wayne County Medical Examiner now working to identify all three as the investigation continues.
   

2. Detroit firefighter who died diving in to rescue girls off Belle Isle honored (detroitnews.com) — Detroit is honoring fallen firefighter Sgt. Sivad Johnson with a permanent plaque on Belle Isle, near where he died rescuing three girls from the Detroit River in 2020. City leaders, including Mayor Mary Sheffield and Fire Commissioner Chuck Simms, joined Johnson's family to remember his heroism and long service with the Detroit Fire Department.
   

3. 3 bodies, including a 14-year-old boy, found inside Detroit home in apparent murder-suicide (wxyz.com) — Detroit police are investigating a grim scene at a Stoepel Street home, where a 14-year-old boy, his mother, and skeletal remains believed to be her long-missing husband were found after neighbors reported a foul odor. All three appear to have died from gunshot wounds, and the apparent murder-suicide has deeply shaken residents living near the Lodge Freeway.
   

4. Detroit police officer arrested in Redford Township on suspicion of drunk driving (cbsnews.com) — A Detroit police officer who serves as the department's spokesperson was arrested by Redford Township police on suspicion of drunk driving after being found in an unmarked vehicle near Telegraph and Schoolcraft. The Detroit Police Department says he's on administrative leave and stresses that no one is above the law as the case moves toward a September 9 pre-trial hearing.
   

5.
