Thunderstorms are possible across the metro Detroit area Tuesday as temperatures warm back above average, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms are expected to move across the area sometime in the late afternoon hours when highs reach the 70s, the weather service said.

Highs will stay in the 70s through the rest of the workweek with sunny skies until Friday when another chance for rain moves into the area, the weather service said.

There will be another chance for rain on Saturday with highs dropping into the 60s through the weekend, the weather service said.
