Today, Methode operates in 14 countries and employs more than 6,500 people worldwide. The company had just 59 Michigan-based employees before the move. Now they're planning to add at least 90 new jobs by 2030.

The newly created jobs will have a starting wage of $29.41 per hour plus benefits. That is nearly $5 per hour more than the regional median wage.

"Our move to Southfield is a natural next step in Methode's transformation," Methode President and CEO Jon DeGaynor said. "Being closer to our customers and the broader Detroit automotive network strengthens our ability to operate strategically, collaborate more effectively, and position the company for long-term success."

Southfield Mayor Kenson Siver welcomed Methode to the city.

"This investment will bring quality jobs, strengthen our local and regional economy, and build on Southfield’s commitment to supporting business growth and innovation," Siver said.
