(wzzm13.com) — A massive sinkhole on South Parsons Avenue in Fremont swallowed a car early Thursday, closing the road as crews worked to remove the vehicle and assess damage. With more flooding expected across Newaygo County, local tow operators and emergency responders are bracing for additional calls while residents along nearby rivers prepare for possible evacuations. 
• Officials say Hesperia Dam in danger, could cause flash flood (freep.com subscription) — Heavy rains have pushed the Hesperia Dam to dangerous levels, prompting officials to warn downstream residents to be ready to evacuate and avoid closed bridges. Fremont, along with Hesperia and Newaygo, has already seen several inches of rain, meaning any new downpour will quickly run off and could worsen flooding along the White River corridor.
