• Four vehicles involved in M-18 work zone crash; one driver injured (wnem.com) — A four-vehicle crash in a construction zone on South M-18 in Gladwin County sent a 27-year-old Midland man to the hospital Wednesday evening. Deputies say his Jeep rear-ended a stopped vehicle in the work zone, triggering a chain reaction and sideswiping a pickup in the northbound lane. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected, but the driver received two traffic citations. 
• Amish boy driving horse-drawn buggy struck by SUV in Gladwin County (freep.com subscription) — An 11-year-old Amish boy from Gladwin County was seriously injured when his horse-drawn buggy was struck by an SUV on McCulloch Road in Beaverton Township Wednesday morning. Deputies say vegetation likely blocked his view as he pulled from a driveway; the horse was killed, and the 79-year-old Gladwin County driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews from Gladwin County and MyMichigan facilities responded.
