Police said criminal charges are possible.

HARPER WOODS, MI — A man has been arrested after a 1-year-old child was found inside an impounded vehicle Saturday in Eastpointe, police said.

Harper Woods Police Chief Jason Hammerle said the abandoned vehicle was towed from the 20600 block of Damman Street in Harper Woods on Friday.

Hammerle said the car was improperly parked on the prohibited side of the street and blocking a resident’s driveway. He added the vehicle was locked and crews could not thoroughly look inside.
