• Emmet County declares state of emergency as flooding worsens in Northern Michigan (9and10news.com) — Flooding and erosion have forced evacuations along South Lakeshore Drive just north of Harbor Springs, and M-119 is closed between Island View and Division roads. Emmet County has declared a local state of emergency, with Pellston Regional Airport shut to commercial flights and several nearby communities reporting high water. Residents in flood-prone areas are urged to be ready to evacuate and report damage. 
• Alonzi, Bullotta Win James D. Standish Award For Evans Scholars (golfblogger.com) — Harbor Springs’ own Olin Alonzi, a caddie at Wequetonsing Golf Club, has been named a 2026 James D. Standish Award winner for Evans Scholars. The Michigan State junior, whose father works at The Highlands in Harbor Springs, is recognized for leadership and scholarship alongside co-winner Harrison Bullotta of Rochester. The Golf Association of Michigan will present the awards May 6.
