• 128 people become U.S. citizens at SC4 naturalization ceremony (bnd.com) — A Howell resident, Ronald William Henry, was among 128 people from 39 countries who became U.S. citizens during a ceremony at St. Clair County Community College. Local students, college leaders, and a keynote speaker emphasized civic engagement, opportunity, and staying connected to one's roots as the new citizens took the Oath of Allegiance and celebrated with family and friends. 
• House bill would give school credit for job experience (michiganpublic.org) — Howell's state Rep. Jason Woolford is backing a Michigan House bill that would let high school seniors earn academic credit for working at least 30 hours a week in skilled trades jobs. Supporters say it could open non-college career paths and ease worker shortages, while critics in the Democratic caucus largely withheld support as the measure heads to the Senate.
