Community invited to join Livingston County Walk to End Alzheimer's (livingstondaily.com) — Howell residents can join the Livingston County Walk to End Alzheimer's on Oct. 3 at the historic courthouse downtown, with registration starting at 9 a.m. The free event raises money for Alzheimer's care, support and research, features Promise Garden flowers symbolizing participants' connections to dementia, and will go on rain or shine with volunteers still needed.
   

2. Here's where to find apple orchards, pumpkin patches in Livingston County (bnd.com) — Howell families have two nearby options for fall fun, with Markillie Orchard and Fawcett Farms on Latson Road offering cider, doughnuts, pumpkins and seasonal events through October. The roundup also spotlights other Livingston County favorites like Parshallville Cider Mill, Spicer Orchards, Munsell Farms and Schell Family Farm, plus a South Lyon destination worth the short drive.
   

3. What's Going Around in Metro Detroit: Seasonal allergies, colds, influenza, scooter, e-bike injuries (clickondetroit.com) — In Livingston County, including Howell, doctors are seeing more sinus infections, yellowjacket and bee stings, plus early flu cases and injuries from e‑bikes, mopeds and bicycles. A Howell family physician reports treating several yellowjacket stings and sinus infections, while nearby counties are dealing with seasonal allergies, respiratory viruses and sports injuries as fall settles in.
   

4. Green Oak roundabouts rank as most-dangerous intersection in county (thelivingstonpost.com) — Two Howell intersections — Highland Road at North Michigan Avenue and Grand River at North Michigan Avenue East — rank among Livingston County's 10 most crash‑prone spots, based on 2025 state police data. The county's worst intersection remains the Lee and Whitmore Lake roundabouts in Green Oak Township, underscoring broader traffic safety concerns across the region.
